Brancaster Stays has been closed during the lockdown and is now accepting bookings from July 4th.
Brancaster Stays is perhaps unique in offering totally self-contained apartments with no inside shared or communal areas. In some respects, the apartments seem to have been designed for self-isolation.
However, government guidelines are taken very seriously and we have introduced the following measures based on that:
First and foremost, we would ask all guests to wash their hands immediately upon arrival and each time they return to their apartment. This is vital.
Disinfecting Room Keys and Key Holders
We have a number of keys to the apartment. Each time a guest leaves, the key will be washed in hot soapy water, dried and placed in a bag. They will be used on a rotational basis to avoid cross-contamination. We will leave a key in the keypad (also cleaned with antibacterial wipes). Information on keypad codes will be sent by email or text nearer the date of stay if required.
We are proud of our exceedingly high cleaning and hygiene procedures that have always been followed (please read our reviews for confirmation) However, during the Covid-19 risk period –
There is a risk of contamination/transmission subsequent to hand contact from surfaces in bedrooms, on linen and towels. Staff must follow handwashing guidelines as per Public Health England guidance. Disinfecting gloved hands will follow the same guidelines and frequency as that of handwashing.
Room cleaning will be undertaken in the absence of the guest unless it is difficult for the guest to leave the room. We do not clean the rooms on a daily basis. If you are staying for more than three days, then a clean is carried out at a pre-planned time to suit the guest not being in the room. We will use a mask and gloves whilst the clean takes place.
Beds – these are stripped back to the mattress; we do all our own laundry and ironing on site. All mattress and pillow protectors will be changed and washed for each guest stay. Duvets are changed and aired.
Hand contact surfaces should be disinfected. We use a good range of products that contain bleach and antibacterial ingredients. We are going to leave an antibacterial spray and wipes in each room for your own peace of mind. There will also be antibacterial soap/hand sanitiser in the kitchen.
All touchpoints in the rooms will be cleaned, these include
Light switches, bedside tables, remote controls, taps, flush handles and toilet seats, door handles – inside and out, hair dryer handles, kettle handle and lid, and the central heating thermostat.
Room collateral should be kept to a minimum – we do have a few cushions/magazines in the room, if you would like these removed, please ask.
Any change in health whilst staying.
If a guest presents themselves with symptoms of COVID-19 or is asymptomatic but declares the need to self-isolate, they should be advised to check out and return home to self-isolate according to the current government guidance. If the guest shows acute symptoms, have breathing difficulties or their life is at potential risk, seek medical help immediately.
Under these circumstances, we would immediately contact the guests who is due to arrive in that room and offer them the option to cancel for a full refund if they felt that the risk to them was too great.
No Cash Payments
We would prefer not to have cash or cheque payments – all payments to be via bank transfer. However, if this is an issue for you, please email, text or phone Thomas for advice on 07957563332.
